Early mothers day....

I feel so loved! My little sister delivered a little gift from my mother today, it was an "early" mothers day gift.
she got me my FAVORITE flowers, and pink ones of course  (since I am having a girl) along with some chocolate and a card. The card read "Happy Mothers day to the mother-to-be. I am so excited for you!"

I feel so blessed to have such a loving and thoughtful Mother, as well as family! Ever since they have found out I am pregnant they have been so thrilled for me! I feel so grateful to have a family who loves and cares for me, and shares my joys with me!

Thanks everyone for your excitement and love that you have given me! AND thanks to my amazing Mother for everything you have done for me! I love you!!!

Drum roll please.....

The day finally came! After much counting down, and much anxiety, (extreme anxiety), I finally got to find out what my little babe is! I was going to make you solve the riddle that I sent to mine and Spencer's siblings, but I decided to spare you the time and just tell you.... so today at about 9:15 am, we found out that we will be having a.....................................................................................................................................................................
......................................................................................................................................................................

GIRL!!!!

The proof!

The top one he took so that we could have a full body shot, and the second one is the proof of gender!

Now for some fun story time....
Can I just say how much I LOVE our ultra sound tech! He is SO funny, and makes me laugh the entire time. Before we went in, I was nervous he wouldn't be able to see the gender. I kept saying Karma was going to bite me in the butt for pay back for my mom. Apparently when she went to find out what I was, I had my legs crossed and my hands tucked in, so there was absolutely NO WAY  I would let them see me. Luckily my little girl decided she would be nice to me :)

It took the Dr. no time at all to find the perfect shot showing the gender. The first shot he found he called the "toilet seat shot",  saying it was what it would look like if she was sitting on the toilet and we were looking up, (don't know why I would be in the toilet looking at her bum, but I'll go with it I guess). Another view he was went to he called the "lack thereof shot, meaning even though you couldn't see proof a girl's genitals, there was no view of the any boy genital, (hence the lack thereof).

The Dr. said she is DEFINITELY a girl, he kept on saying "YUP its a girl, no doubt about that." He even said that if he was wrong, and the baby ended up being a boy, he would pay for his college tuition. SO I guess at least we have college expenses paid for if he is wrong :)

************

I waited a little while to tell my family the news, because I wanted to do something fun. So they had to endure the torture of not knowing ALL day. But it was sure fun for me... here are some of my fun/ funny conversations I had with some of my family members today....

Conversation 1 (between older sister and me)

Tiffany: BOY?

Me: I'm not telling anyone yet, I have a fun way I want to tell everyone
Tiffany: Just say yes or no. I won't tell a soul

Me: You'll just have to wait...
Tiffany: I'll take that as a yes!

Me: (smiling to myself) Take it however you want but I want confirm or deny it :)

Conversation 2 (between my Mom and me)

Mom: (after just telling her I was shopping) What color are you shopping for?
Me: haha gender neutral :)

Mom: oh just give me a hint!
Me: ok.... its a BABY!

Mom: Just tell me! Did the dr have a hard time finding the gender?
Me: Nope! He found it so fast!

Mom: Oh its a BOY! I knew it! It has a wee wee!
Me: I'm not saying!

*******

Oh I just LOVED messing with them and LOVED the fact that they think the KNOW the correct answer. It made the torture even more worthwhile!!

So when I finally did tell them this is how I did it....

For my sisters who don't live near, I made this image on adobe and emailed it to them (I found the riddle online and thought it was way cute!) For the record the "similarity" between these candy bars was that they had No Nuts which equals GIRL :)

I also did a similar thing for Spencer's brother that lives nearby, but I actually put the candy in a bag, with the note tied to it. Then just to be funny we tied two balloons to the bag, one pink and one blue, put it on the porch and doorbell ditched them. :)

For my Mother, my little sister, and Spencer's Parents we read them a poem that I wrote and gave them a bag with pink and blue M&M's.
This is how the Poem went:

Boy or Girl that is the question,
We’ve asked everyone, ‘what is your impression’?
What do you think is the gender of our baby?
Do you think you guessed it right? Well maybe, just maybe.

Ten Tiny fingers and ten Tiny toes.
Boy or girl, nobody knows!
While truthfully we think either will be nice,
We wanted to know whether it would be snakes and snails, or sugar and spice?

So do you think the babe will be dressed in Pink?
Or what about blue, what do you think?
Will it be all about sports and bugs and dirt?
Or all about shoes, and bows, and a frilly skirt?

Do you give up would you like a clue?
Take these treats the pink and the blue,
Count how many of each to end your confusion,
Which one has more? Well there’s your conclusion!

At this point we gave them bags of pink and blue M&M's. but we didn't want to make it too easy! we decided to play a little trick on them, we put even amounts of blue and pink, just to confuse them a little. After we had our fun we read the rest of the poem.

Boy or girl that is the question!
Do you want to know? Well here is our confession!
While either one we would really enjoy
Coming this fall, won’t be a boy!

IT’S A GIRL!!!

Dyeing Eggs

One of my favorite things to do around Easter is Dyeing eggs! I swear I am still a little kid, forget this whole growing up thing, I am just going to stay a kid!

We had some fun kits this year, one was for tie-dye eggs and the other was making shiny eggs using some sort of aluminum foil. They were pretty cool!

The Date is set!

I am probably one of the most IMPATIENT person you will ever meet, and now that I am expecting a little one, everything baby makes me even more impatient. I can't wait for all the fun milestones, I have been so impatient with everything, the first doctor's appointment, hearing the heartbeat, the ultrasound, and now the GENDER, and feeling those FIRST MOVEMENTS (having felt them yet).

Of course some of these milestones I don't have much control over, but I have found one that I do (well sort of) My doctor said that if we wanted we could do a gender only ultrasound, if we did not want to wait for the 20 weeks appointment, which of course was SOOO tempting to me! SO this Tuesday, April 26th at 9:00 am we will be finding out what our sweet baby is!!

I CAN'T WAIT!!! so stay tuned

Space Center

For Spencer astronomy class he had to do so many projects or assignments that had to deal with space {hello mrs obvious} One option was the Clark Planetarium in Salt Lake, so of course being the kids that we are we chose that! We invited Thomas to come along as well. As you can see we had way too much fun.

A Wedding, A birthday and A mini Vacation

This weekend was a BUSY one... so busy we didn't even get to attend all the things we were invited to, we really had to pick and choose. I don't know what it was with the 16th but it seemed as if EVERYONE thought it would be a good day to some sort of Big event. I had a double baptism, a bridal shower, and a wedding in one day and seriously at the same exact time. Well the wedding won, because it was the first one I knew about and I had requested work off specifically for that wedding. Plus it was a good friend of mine, since Jr. High.
(plus it was in sunny St. George, how could I pass that up ;) )

We were going to drive down Friday night and come back Sunday. But Friday I had a test that took forever and at 5 we needed to pick up the car rental (yes we still haven't sorted things out with the insurance company and car accident, but that's another story for another day). So since we wouldn't have arrived in St. George til 8 or so we decided to save the money and drive down the next morning. Instead we went out to eat and look at cribs and other baby stuff ;)

Anyways Saturday morning we drove down to Mandie's Wedding, it was so fun to see Miss Mandie get married. I am glad I went. She looked so happy, and it looks like she picked a good guy! So happy for her. Well the wedding didn't take long to we had the rest of the night to enjoy the Amazing weather of St. George! It was so nice to spend time with each other, and not have a care in the world. Not having to worry about work, and homework, or anything else! Wish we could have stayed longer!

Sunday we drove back ( a little earlier than I would have liked, but I had a meeting at church). We got home and / relaxed for a bit, until; we headed over to my Mom's to Celebrate Savannah and Dakota's 17th birthday! I can't believe they are 17! I told them they are not allowed to grow up but they just don't listen ;)

Well it was a busy, yet relaxing weekend, and unfortunately I have to go back to the real world of work and school, boo. (although I have only two more days of the semester!!)

We couldn't resist...

Friday night Spencer and I had a mini date night, we were going to go to Trafalga, but it was PACKED, so we went shopping instead. We mostly just went to look at RC willey at cribs, and Target to look at other baby furniture. While we were in the baby section, I told him I wanted to show him the CUTEST shoes I had found a few weeks ago.(They look like mini Sanuks which is a shoe brand well loved in our little Family).  As soon as he saw them he wanted to buy them. I was hoping he would be the one to talk me out of them (again), but nope he loved them just as much as I did! So we bought them! We just couldn't resist them!

What's your guess?

I remember with a few of the babies in the Family doing a vote of what everyone thought the baby was, and then later right before they are born we all guess how much they will weigh, their length, and how much hair they have. I thought it would be fun to do such, so right now I want to know what do you think the gender is?

We have our appointment set and its coming very soon! so Tell me, what do you guess that baby is, BOY or GIRL?

Lets see who is right :)

Weekend Fun

This weekend my family went up to Park City to celebrate my nephews birthday and to have a mini vacation. My sister planned it and did great with such short notice. It was a blast! We were able to get an awesome deal on two suites at the Marriott, thanks to Becky. The suites were amazing! Each suite had two rooms, plus three couches with pull out beds, so there was plenty of sleeping room. Then on top of that the building that was the recreation type area, had games, the wii, and fun activities everyday through out the day. And of course I can't forget the pool! Everyone loved the pool, I think all the younger kids, and of course my husband, lived in the pool this weekend. It was an indoor/ outdoor pool, with at least two hot tubs that I saw. The cool part was that it was snowing the whole time, so the pool was steaming, which gave it a very cool effect.

We spent a lot of the weekend lounging around, swimming, playing games, eating and sleeping. But of course we had to have a girls night and head to the outlets, so My mom, Sister, Niece and I all left the boys and the little kids back at the hotel/pool, while we went on a little shopping spree.

After our shopping trip we all went back to eat some yummy fajitas, and watch a movie, and head to bed. Everyone was pooped. I think all of us slept a lot better that night than the first night!

On our way home Spencer and I stopped at the outlets again. I had wanted him to go before, but it had turned into a girls night, so we went on the way home instead. We mainly just looked around since the day before I had bought what I wanted.

It was so nice to get away from the worries of school and frustrations of work, and just relax and have fun!

Thanks for the fun weekend Tabby! It was a blast!

Dear baby…

When I found out I was pregnant I wanted to blog throughout my pregnancy, but I also wanted a somewhat of a separate spot to blog about my pregnancy updates specifically. So I made a page titled "oh baby" what I didn't realize at first was that's all it was, a page. I wasn't able to add different posts like I was thinking I would be able to, and it seemed like It was going to be more annoying than I thought. I think I will still use it as a photo update, as My mom and I take progressive baby bump pics. But as for pregnancy weekly updates I want to do something a little different.

So thinking about it more I decided to create a totally separate blog just for that purpose; to use as a journal of pregnancy, and then updates of my little one. That way they can look back at their life journey specifically.

It is still in the works,  but go check out my new pregnancy/baby journal, Dear Baby..

Need some change

I really need some change in my schedule! Here are just a few examples of my days. 1) waking up and going to work ALL day and then coming home and doing homework ALL night, 2) Waking up and going to school ALL morning and then coming home and doing homework ALL night. And the worst one yet 3) waking up and going to school ALL morning, work on homework at school, head straight to work, while trying to squeeze homework in on breaks, and then coming home very late at night.

But the real kicker is, I can't even get away from it in my sleep! Even in my dreams I am at work and working on my homework! I think it's time for a break! Don't you agree? :)

Pink or Blue? That is the question…

Ever since we announced it to our family and friends it has been so fun to ask them what they think the baby will be. I can't wait to find out what we are having and feel so impatient! So taking polls with everyone makes it a fun game for me to pass the time.

I have a friend at work who is also pregnant and we decided it would be fun to take a poll with people at work to see what everyone thought we were having. It was fun to see all the different thoughts. At first EVERYONE was saying I was having a girl and she was having a boy. We did not have anyone voting opposite of that. Then all of a sudden the votes flipped and the ending results was Girl for Hailey, boy for me.

Of course that game didn't last long so I needed more entertainment so whenever I need to kill time (or when I'm procrastinating homework) I like to find different "gender predictors" online and see what they say. :)

Here are some of my results.

Chinese gender predictor says BOY

Mom quizzes says BOY

Old wives tale quiz says its 50% chance GIRL and 50% BOY (well duh, I thought that was common knowledge)

And then there are the old wives tales of course.... (some of them I can't apply quite yet, but here are the few I can)

  • The hair on your legs is growing faster during pregnancy so it's a  BOY

  • Your feet are colder than they were before pregnancy. You are having a BOY.
  • The maternal grandmother doesn't have gray hair (dyed or natural), so its a GIRL
  • You didn't have morning sickness early in pregnancy, so it will be a BOY.
  • You are not looking particularly good during pregnancy. Therefore, it must be a GIRL, because girls steal their mother's looks.
  • Your chest development has been quite dramatic during pregnancy. You should expect a GIRL.
  • Since the sum of the mother's age at conception and the number of the month of conception is even, it will be a BOY.
  • You are craving sweets, which means that it is a GIRL.
  • Your nose hasn't changed during pregnancy, which indicates a GIRL.
  • You have been craving fruits, so it is a GIRL.
  • Your baby's heart rate is 140 or more beats per minute, so it's a GIRL.
SO far its 8 things pointing to GIRL and 7 pointing to BOY...

I can't wait to see what it is for real!  We made our appointment to go find out, but after hearing everyone's mishaps of being told the wrong gender I'm a little nervous, and might push back the appointment later...

How about all you mothers out there? How far along were you when you found out what you were having? Did you wait til 20 weeks or go earlier?

Yummy??

My brother and the Hubby have been watching {quite obsessively} Man vs Food. For some strange reason they  thought some of the food on the show looks yummy. Don't ask why, because it sounds nasty to me... Well after watching they decided they would create their own weird masterpieces....

Eggs+ bacon+ Burger+cheese+ Toast= Yummy?!

I'm not so sure about that....But they said it was to die for! {Men}

What’s my age again?

Here is a laugh for youYesterday at work the topic of Age came up, and one of my coworkers asks me how old I am. I replied with no thought, 22 (I'm actually 23, and have been for at least 5 months now). We continue talking and about two or so minutes later, mid conversation, I say "oh wait, I'm 23 not 22". We all kind of laughed at my stupidity of not knowing my own age, and even five minutes later I'm still thinking to myself, "23? No 22?" You think I would know my own age by now. I think I am losing my mind, I blame the hormones.
