One Month!

Hannah baby is ONE Month old! Where did the time go?! My baby is getting so big, its so hard to believe! Today she started smiling at us! She has been smiling since day one, mostly in her sleep though. So you can imagine my delight when she actually looked at me and smiled! She definitely knows who her mommy is, which makes me very happy! Oh my goodness! I am loving it!

She is much more alert and loves to watch the world around her. She especially loves to look at the lights. Every morning she will just stare at our curtains and the light shining through the sides. She is also very curious about her hands. She tries SO hard to get those fingers in her mouth, so much that is frustrates her. Poor girl gets so frustrated when she can't get her fingers, so bad to the point where I have had to cave and give her a binky :( Whatever keeps my girl happy I guess! It is so fun with her smiling and so alert! I love watching my girl get bigger and learning more about the world around her.

2 weeks!?

How is it that my sweet girl is already two weeks old? It seems as if she just got here and next thing I know,  I'm at her two week appointment! Its almost not fair!

These two weeks have been quite the adventure for sure, and I'm loving it! Like my Mom has said, I finally have my real live baby doll! We are so in love! She is our princess!

Our beautiful girl has been growing so much! When we left the hospital she weighed 7 lbs 2 oz, just one week later she was not only back to her birth weight but a couple ounces more, at 7 lbs 15 oz. Now at two weeks she weighs 8 lbs 6 oz! Its so fun to see her getting bigger everyday!

Hannah is such a smiley, happy baby so far ( hopefully it stays that way). She mostly smiles  in her sleep, but I'll take it! She has such a pretty smile already! She is also very strong already! from day one she can lift her head pretty high for a few seconds at a time. She is going to be rolling before we know it!

I am just loving being a mommy! Its definitely a dream come true! I am so thankful for this sweet angel! I feel very blessed!

Today is my due date...

.... and instead of having a baby this is what I've been doing.

While everyone loaded up the hay, I got to drive the very bumpy truck... Maybe it will help little miss wriggle her way out?

One year!

A year ago from Saturday Spencer and I were married for time and all eternity. How has it been a year already!? I still remember that day like it was yesterday! It was the most amazing day in my life! I wish I could relive it over and over again. The day could not have been more beautiful.

I wish I had those thoughts in my head on our actual anniversary. Unfortunately I let my emotions {and hormones} get the best of me. Poor Spencer probably thinks he married a crazy person.

Let me just start from the beginning... Maybe it will make me seem less crazy.

Spencer and I did not make any plans for our Anniversary since we did not know if baby girl would make her appearance before then. We were both were sure she would show up on our anniversary. (Our due date is exactly one week from our anniversary.) On Thursday we figured that since I had not been having any contractions that maybe we could attempt to do something. I looked online and found a really good deal for a hotel in Park City. It seemed like an amazing deal! I was actually so excited about it! It was at the Silver King hotel. Originally the price was around 300 for a two night stay and we were getting it for over 60% off! Let me paint a picture for you.. It had a bedroom,  jetted tub in bathroom, kitchenette, small living room area, hot tub on the deck and a view. Heavenly? sounded like it to me!

That night I called to make the reservations, I felt like a little kid on Christmas eve. Couldn't wait until the next day and to have a nice weekend getaway with my Hubby. We planned on leaving early enough that would could get there around 2 and spend a heavenly Anniversary weekend together.

Here is what really happened. The whole week before Spencer's coworker and "friend" slacked off majorly at the shop. He was way more concerned about building his sisters kitchen than actually doing the job should have been doing which was supposed to be installed on Saturday. Since he was so behind on Friday Spencer had to help him out to get everything done. Supposedly it was "not much" when in fact it was hours {and I mean HOURS} of work that he had not done. {grrr}. While I waited for them to finish up the job I packed for me. Then for Spencer. Then I  cleaned our room. cleaned the living room. the kitchen. and the GARAGE! (which means moving heavy boxes)  Can you tell I was bored {and impatient}. By the time they were done it was 5:00...
FIVE O CLOCK!!

Keep in mind we were wanting to get there by 2. {once again, grrr!}
By the time Spencer showered and we packed the car we ended up leaving by 6:30. At this point my back was throbbing and I felt like I was having contractions. They weren't bad though, just minor pain. 30 Minutes into our drive the pains were hurting even more. We stopped in Provo Canyon and got out to walk around. It didn't really help so we had to make a decision. We didn't know if I really was in labor or if was going to be a false alarm like last weekend. After much contemplation we decided that we would cancel our hotel and just head back home. So we started to drive home. Then here is where crazy lady kicks in. I was so upset I just wanted to have a nice weekend with the Hubby so I COULD NOT make up my mind. I Literally told him to go back. and the never mind. go back. go home. So we sat there waiting for me to decide. oh boy. After much drama we just went home. Once again {just like last weekend} I get home, eat food, take a long hot shower and NOTHING. Contractions stop. I kept thinking maybe, just maybe I would wake up in the middle of the night with contractions.

I woke up at 9:30 am. No rude (but much wanted) awakenings for me! This baby is stubborn, and a trickster! Apparetnlty we were just not supposed to go out of town for our anniversary, but we still wanted to make the best of it. Onto plan B. We decided to go out to eat and then head up to salt lake. I don't even think we knew what we wanted to do, we were just going to wing it.
We decided to go out to eat at Sakura in Orem.  After a very yummy dinner we walk out to find out our car was leaking! We attempted to drive it home (even though I said not to) and made it to Spanish Fork when the car totally gave out on us. Spencer's brother had to tow us to the auto shop were our other car was. By this point I was so upset! All I wanted was a magical anniversary weekend and everything was going wrong! Instead we ended up mad and stressed out. By the time we calmed down and got on better terms with each other. We drove back up to Orem and got doughnuts and Chocolate milk and went for walk. Not the Anniverary I wanted but it will be remembered to say the least.

To make up for my craziness, and yes I acted very crazy! I made and surprised Spencer with a candle light dinner.

As you can see our life isn't perfect and its not all hunky dory, but together we try to get through all the craziness and the bumps in the road. That's what it is all about!

Even though my actions did not show it on our actual anniversary I love you so much Spencer! I am so lucky to be married to you and I look forward to the rest of my life with you! Even though there will be rough times there is no one else I would rather go through them with than you! "I love you more"

Crafting party

Last year for the Nielson Family New Years party we did a gift exchange.  For that gift exchange we were supposed to make something for our gift. I made wood blocks that said "family". Everyone loved my blocks {made me feel pretty special}. They apparently loved them so much that they either asked me to make them some or teach them how, so I taught them how. Some of my SIL's met up at my MIL's house and I brought over all my supplies. It was so much fun to see what everyone came up with! I would love to do more craft nights!
